His love of gardening and the natural world has inspired much of his work. Flowers from his Millbrook, New York garden, tree bark found on trail hikes near his Aspen, Colorado home or sea life from frequent trips to the Caribbean often become beautiful jewel-encrusted bracelets and earrings. Mish’s intense horticultural interests have lead to his involvement with such world renowned institutions as the New York Botanical Garden where he sits on the Board and chairs the Garden Patrons Program. His deep knowledge of jewelry and his passion for great design have lead to the creation and co-chairing of the first Jewelry Council of the Council of Fashion Designers of America.
